Released & Moved to Apt.!!!!
Aunt Linda just got home and wanted everyone to know that Emily was
discharged today from Duke to move into their “new home” up there, complete with her
very own bed and comforter from her real home! She had a very good day and
is continuing to smile and laugh and will stand and try to take steps when
you help her. YEAH!!!!! She did have to have a little sedation this a.m. for
them to keep her still and make the body mold for her radiation treatments
that will begin on Thursday next week. They have to take her to the hospital
for 4 nights at 7 p.m. to receive the G-CSS injections to boost the blood
cells.
They are already receiving mail at the apt. Keep those cards and notes of
encouragement headed their way!!! Thank you to all that sent so many gifts
and cards for her birthday. She had a very good afternoon and is going to
finish opening everything this weekend when she feels up to it. She is such a
precious little girl and we are so encouraged by her progress in the last few
days! God is good!
Good News on Spinal Tap
(from Uncle David) GOOD NEWS!! GOOD NEWS!! I talked with Dawn a few minutes ago and the spinal tap results came back negative, which means there are no cancerous cells floating around in Emilys spinal cord. This is great news!! This may also decrease-slightly- the amount of radiation and chemo treatments.More good news!! It looks like they will be moving into their temporary apartment tomorrow. Also,Emily is scheduled to be released tomorrow!! Before Emily leaves tomorrow they are going to make a “Body Mold” of her cute little body so when she comes in for her radiation treatments she can lie in the mold and be very still.Dawn also said she took Emily downstairs to the hospital cafateria for a little while today. All in all sounds like they had a pretty good day!! And they should because……IT’S EMILY’S BIRTHDAY!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! YEA!! YEA!!! WOO!!! WOO!! We all love you very much!!
