Some good news tonight on Emily. After 2 rough days and a bone marrow test
today, results just came in from it that are negative. She just ate 1/2 a
popsicle and they are delighted with that! Hope we can see a smile on her
little face tomorrow! Rejoice in this good news!!!!!
Emily had a permanent shunt implanted this afternoon. A small incision in her abdomen and of course another to her head to implant it and it is draining to relieve the pressure. I understand she was groggy and a little fussy when recovering from the surgery, as to be expected. We pray for a restful night for her and hope that she will now be on her way to strengthening up for her radiation treatments to begin.
Please take a moment and say an extra prayer for Little Emily. She is scheduled between 4:30 & 5:00 p.m. today to have a permanent shunt implanted due to fluid on the brain. Should take about 45 minutes to do. Emily is resting comfortably right now as they have increased her pain meds again.
