Kiwanis Park Grand Opening

The long awaited Kiwanis Park Grand Opening was this afternoon and Emily was able to come home again for the weekend.  She loves the park and visited often until she got sick, so naturally, she wanted to go to the park today!  Emily, Dawn, Eddie & Trey were able to come, even though Emily only stayed about 20 minutes.  The were many children and adults so happy to see her but with the lively activities and fear of catching a “bug”, Emily wanted to go home after sliding one time and getting a pink balloon.  That was OK with us, we were just so happy to see her home again!

Fishing

A family outing to a friend’s fishing pond brought great delight to Emily!  While she only felt like staying about 15 minutes, she enjoyed EVERY minute of it.  In this pond, you drop your fish line and the fish just jump right on it, so she caught a fish very quickly.  Of course, another photo op to show her beautiful smile, blue eyes and new hair cut!  This was the highlight of her weekend home and then she and Dawn packed up to head back to Durham.

Hair Cut

Well, Emily got a very short hair cut today.  Since her hair is falling out rapidly, they decided to go ahead and cut it.  Mrs. Flossie came to the house, wrapped a pretty, bright beach towel around her shoulders and began to cut.  Emily smiled the entire time!  Dawn got lots of pics and her new short haircut was posted on the website.  Really cute and just made those baby blue eyes glisten even more than usual!  What a brave little girl!
