Fever continues

Emily still is running fevers especially at night, it increases.  Doctors say she is ok to stay at the apt.  if it doesn’t  increase any higher than 101.3  and the vomiting is only occasionally.  They still are checking her cultures .  She remains weak  and doesn’t want to move off the sofa or bed .  She is having bad pains in her stomach and had 3  long nights being  sick on her stomach, all night no sleep,  and could’nt even get up to go to the potty.  After her vomiting was finished  she would sing me a little song,  how she does all this and still stays happy.   Doctors are saying it may be a GI virus. I page  them and keep them informed on what they want me to do next.  It is taking her a long time to get over.  I pray she will have the strength for the next chemo treatment on Wednesday.  She has not had anything to eat for 10 days,  I continue to give her TPN  and Lipids  nightly  over 12 hours.  She  does not want us to eat around her, she cannot take the smell of the food.  I see the Dr. on Tues.  if anything doesn’t happen before then.  I will keep you informed.  I am so glad Trey was able to be home for a few days before school starts, so he could play with everyone.   Eddie said they have had a good time.

Love,  Dawn

Christmas Thanks

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Santa was good to all. Just wanted to say Thanks for everything you all have done to help us thru this time. It means more than you can imagine. In a couple of months we’ll all be home together again. Thanks again!
We had a great time being with our family, ate too much, and glad we didn’t have to be in the hospital. Emily has been running a fever all weekend, just low enough not to be admitted.  Today we were at the hospital from 10:30-5:30.  She had a blood transfusion, and checked her counts again.  Thursday more labs, cultures,  ekg,  audiogram and echo,  chest and nasal xrays,  speech exam,  and Drs. visit.  Its going to be busy!    Eddie and Trey will be going back home tomorrow.  Emily and I are going to try to take it easy unless they call us in for more labs.
Miss everyone,  Love  Dawn,  Eddie,  Trey,  Emily
