Fever is gone

Filed under: — sho at 4:00 pm on Thursday, March 29, 2007

Just getting back to the apartment, Emily’s fever is gone for now, hope tonight it doesn’t come back. Emily had an evaluation with her Dr. then had platelets in the day hospital. Her ANC (Absolute Neutrophil Count) that predicts ability to fight bacterial infections, is 64 and 500 is when she becomes Neutropenic, so she is about the lowest now. She will be on GCSF for a couple more weeks to boost her counts. Its 3:20 and her physical therapist will be here at 4:00. We didn’t have time at the hospital for her occupational therapist today, we will start a home health occupational therapist next week. It will be easier to schedule around the hospital appts. I will let you know how tonight goes.

Fever continues

Talked with Dawn this a.m. Emily was at the hospital with her school teacher and getting blood work and cultures done. She continues to have a fever around 101 degrees, but no admission to hospital as yet. Continue to pray the fever will stay low and that she will not have to be admitted. I believe it has to reach 101.3 before they will admit her. She is eagerly marking off the calendar days until her return home!!!! Nothing will stop her now! Don’t we have just the most AMAZING little girl that we’re all so fond of???? Such an example to us all to strive to “feel better”, “do better”, “live better”. What an example she sets for us all!

Love,
Stephanie

Fever started

Filed under: — sho at 8:51 pm on Wednesday, March 28, 2007

Emily has started a low grade fever checked 45 minutes ago. I hope it doesn’t keep rising. Of course Dr. G said be on the look out, when we were in there on Monday. She will probably get a fever. She will be admitted if she does because her counts are so low. I will keep you posted. Try to get some rest.

Love, Dawn & Emily
