Cookout/Fireworks/Sleepovers
OK EVERYONE, I’ve fallen wwwwwaaaaaayyyyyyyy behind on Emily’s updates, but as I’ve said before, when she is “homie home”, I can’t keep up with her! AND…..NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS!!!!! Today I received about a dozen emails requesting an update on Emily and figured I’d better get back in the groove.
Short story before Dawn’s update appears, is that our Sweet Emily had a blast during the July 4th week!!!
On Tuesday night, July 3rd, Emily and about 25 other kids ages 9 (?) & under, and their parents, joined me for our July 4th office cookout at our Surf City office. She was thrilled to see our little Caesar again, but didn’t get a chance to hold him because of all the activities around us, I was scared he’d scratch her, but rest assured, she found his cage immediately upon arriving! After filling tummies with hamburgers & hot dogs, everyone settled back in a beach chair and watched the fireworks from our parking lot! We had a blast and Emily was dressed for the ocassion with a red/white/blue star headband. She looked like a festive Statue of Liberty!
The next day, on July 4th, I spent the afternoon on the beach with Emily, her friends and moms, more the moms because Emily and the kids decided by the time I got there, they would rather watch movies and play video games, than stay on the beach. Oh well, the girls needed some “mommy time”. Yes, the dads got “daddy time” too relaxing under the tent!
So suffice to say, Emily had a wonderful week at the beach with her little friends and there was a sleepover every single night! They ate, they played, they had fun, they were typical little girls & boys. What a blessing!!!!
We were deeply saddened to hear of Chance Harman receiving his angel wings but rejoice with his family that he is no longer in pain and is healthy and playing in heaven. What a blessing he was to his family and all that knew him. Please keep his family in your prayers during this difficult time.
Love, Stephanie
