Services

Thank you everyone for all the comforting messages sent our way today. The phone calls, messages, food, prayers, all have been so greatly appreciated. Our Emily was an amazing little girl that has brought so many wonderful, caring people together on her 20 month journey. She was and forever will be our “Hometown Hero” with the brightest smile in the whole world. Today has been a sad day on Doral Drive but through it all there has been the overwhelming attitude that “all is well and Emily is healed”. Emily’s angel wings have carried her away but she will remain in our hearts and minds forever.

Arrangements are as follows:

Sunday, April 20, 6:00-7:00 p.m. – Visitation at Andrews Chapel, Hwy. 17, Hampstead

Monday, April 21, 2:00 p.m. – A Celebration of Emily’s Life – Barlow-Vista Baptist Church, Hwy. 17 N, Hampstead

I will post a more detailed write later tonight.
Love,
Stephanie

God’s Healing Hand

It is with great sadness I come to you this a.m. to let you know that our precious Emily has her angel wings as of 4:50 this morning. Through our tears we rejoice in the knowledge that she is running and playing in heaven this morning and smiling down upon us to let us know on this beautiful and glorious morning that “It is OK”. She no longer is in pain and I’m sure has been sitting on the knee of her Great Grandpa Elmon Hollis telling him all about herself and all the rest of his grandchildren! I can see her smiling and those big beautiful blue eyes glistening once again. How wonderful it must feel to dance with angel wings!

Details will be forthcoming regarding all arrangements. Until then, please pray for comfort for Emily’s family as they grieve but yet rejoice that Emily is HEALED!

God Bless You All!
Love,
Stephanie

Resting

I Visited with Dawn & Eddie this afternoon and watched over Emily as she rested peacefully. Stole a big kiss on her noggin when I arrived and again when I left! Her condition remains the same and her breathing is very slow. She appears to be comfortable and for that we are ever so grateful. Granny Mom was holding her hand reminding her ever so often to breathe.

Nana came in a little later to help with Trey. He’s been a busy little fella and got eat up with Poison Ivy! Had to go to the Dr. for medicine because his face was so swollen! Boys will be boys you know! Didn’t slow him down one bit, this evening him and Jacob were climbing to the top of a cedar tree in the backyard. All Eddie could do was shake his head and smile. What a reminder to us all that God makes sure life goes on around Emily and that Trey is able to be a typical 9 year old little boy. And oh by the way…. many of you have asked what Trey’s favorite food was so you could bring it for dinner….well this afternoon he informed me his favorite food was STEAK!!! But he likes hot dogs (from Andy’s), chocolate chip cookies and yellow cake with chocolate icing!

Once again, thanks to all that have been preparing meals for the family. I have 2 new names and phone #’s to share with you that will be handling meals for a while giving mom & me a break. If you wish to help with this part of our mission to help Emily’s family, please call one of these ladies: Joyce Coston (910)329-7071 or Chris Hoffer (910)264-4738. They will be glad to get you on the schedule. Thanks ladies for sharing in this task.

I leave you tonight with words & scripture that a dear friend & prayer partner, Margaret Harris, shared with me recently. “We all have been touched by this precious child and I feel God has used her for his Glory.” “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40: 31.”

Love,
Stephanie
